All these arguments are pure conjecture.
The only things we know for sure are:
The US will do whatever is in their best interests to the detriment of anybody and everybody.
The Russian CB has been buying Gold and lots of it.
The Russian CB has been buying most of the Russian production.
The US has sanctioned Russia on every front it can including prohibiting some banks from buying Gold from Russia.
Most of the Russian Gold is off the world market for the time being.
The Saudi's are not cutting oil production any longer to suit the US or anyone else.
There are lots of knowns and unknowns in all this, but the above is some of the basic arguments going on on this blog.
We all know that we never know what is really going on behind the scenes with the US and Russia.
Absolutely anything is possible with these two and when it comes to Gold it is even more so.
