A MELBOURNE school accused of controversial teachings has denied it told boys they could wear dresses and use female toilets.
Mother Cella White said she was going to pull her children out of Frankston High School, and claimed the school was teaching “dangerous” and “age inappropriate” content about gender dysphoria.
Frankston High School, like many in Victoria, is part of the Safe Schools Coalition, which was designed to promote acceptance and tolerance of diverse people, including the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community.
The Herald Sun reported Ms White’s son told her it was announced in science class that boys could wear dresses to school from next year if they identified as female.
“Joining the Safe Schools Coalition is about informing staff and learning how these young people can be supported — we are not encouraging boys to wear dresses or doing anything different to what we’ve always done.
The Victorian Government also mandated all schools to join the Safe Schools Coalition by 2018.
Ms White told radio program Political Spot she found the Safe Schools Coalition resources “excessively sexual”.
“I think it’s far too graphic,” she said.
The Safe Schools Coalition material listed youth support service Minus 18, which was a concern of Ms White’s, as the website discusses breast binding, an act where youngsters bandage their breasts before puberty to prevent growth.
“I don’t think it’s a necessary thing to encourage children to do,” she said.
Ms White also had issues with Safe Schools Coalition posters being hung around the school and said they were almost “recruiting” people to the LGBTI community.
Don’t let the name fool you. There’s nothing safe about the “Safe Schools Coalition”.
While it presents itself as an anti gay and lesbian bullying program, it is instead promoting a dangerous transgender ideology and encouraging boys and girls to wear whatever school uniform makes them comfortable, to use the opposite sex’s toilets, and gives detailed instructions about how girls can bind their chests and boys can ‘tuck’ their genitals.
By their own admission, these practices can be lethal.
But this is where rainbow politics have taken our schools.
The programme has been funded by the Rudd/Abbott/Turnbull governments and is being rolled out across Australia to an increasing number of schools. The Victorian Government has made the programme compulsory.
