Lefties can be a bit weak at times - but righties often get us into wars we should just not be in.

Mistakes in life are and will always be with us -- but, when those mistakes KILL people - they cannot be repaired.

Whitlam did a good thing there and overturned a very bad decision.

If the right side of politics wants to wage wars - let them send their own sons or themselves first.

Yes Australia was well over the concept of conscription and events had already moved on by the time Whitlam was elected - the last Australian combat troops had left Vietnam in early 1972.

Who know what Labor would have done if in power when Vietnam was hot?
