Rather humourous is the fact that Rand's description describes the Marxist-Leninist Communist system as well as it describes Bureaucrat-contaminated wishy-washy capitalism. I assume she particularly meant the latter, but is the former whose doom has come sooner.
As for how long Rand's ideal of a capitalism unconstrained by annoyances like accountability to the public or laws against monopoly would last? Hmmm ... probably quite a while, albeit beset with brand-name mercenary armies making a mess of things.
