No doubt Abbott was effective with his attack dog style in opposition, Shorten is using the same attack dog style against Turnbull with some degree of success but Turnbull is holding up.
What has come to light and often reported is the way Abbott allowed Credlin to run the PMO, it would seem Abbott had no idea and allowed Credlin to run the show. That was a major reason why Abbott got dumped, the idea that Liberal MP's would want a return of that is laughable
