Removing the tax probably has not created jobs, but the tax certainly caused a massive loss in jobs.
Would you invest 30 billion on a project when there is a chance the incoming Labor govt will simply put the mining tax in again??? NO
Big investment plants or mines generally crack a good profit once every 5 years. Then they alternate between losses and small profits.
So the mining tax thwarted the only time these companies could make their returns on investment their (mum and dad) shareholders need.
