Again this focus on cutting down on deductions for individuals.
Deductions are not desireable! It isn't an offset. If people want to claim deductions and they are legitimate then feel free. The only time it is of any real economic advantage is through corporations transfer pricing with associates in low tax jurisdictions.
Otherwise, for individuals, go nuts on deductions if you want. You are far better not incurring the expenditure at all than having ~30-45% of it refunded!
