Trump always had trouble increasing his numbers so he and his people engaged in campaigns designed to discourage or prevent Democrat leaning voters from voting so as to reduce to votes against him. When the numbers suggested that some democrat leaning communities were more likely to vote by mail they orchestrated a campaign to attempt prevent them from voting at all. They also used Facebook to target specific groups to discourage them from turning up and voting.
Trump's apparent view is that if you aren't going to vote from him you shouldn't be allowed to vote at all. Very similar to Putin.
