While he didn't specify what he meant, Cemil Ertem, a senior economic aide, expanded on the theme: the dollar is "a virus that spreads the U.S.'s crises around the whole world," he said in a column today, saying a shift to a gold-based monetary system would ultimately free Turkey from the "global trap."
It seems like a fight for his own political survival, but such candid endorsement of gold as money is quite confronting to the criminal banking system which manipulates markets and money keeping and bringing countries on to their knees.
While we in the west don't hear this gold-money message publicly the emerging world is deeply familiar with it.
