    To get 100,000 in dividends, as an example, you would need some serious capital. 200,000 shares at 5.00 a share = 2 mil. A 5% pa divi gets you 100,000.

    So you (generic 'you') either got them when they were dirt cheap or you have paid out some serious money for them. Either way you are not poor and you've had a great run so far with the free handouts in imputation credits.

    I can't imagine there are too many in this boat, but people have always been inventive and, no doubt, will find other ways to earn. Higher paying unfranked dividends might become a little more attractive now.
