And yes, I used to pray, at one time in my life, to protect me against evil.
And that didn't work either, especially when confronted by a brutal manager who wanted to appoint a vastly inexperienced person to the executive team. But fortunately for me, at that stage in my working life, I was able to obtain alternative employment which, over a relatively short period of time,was equivalent, in remuneration terms, to my previous employment. But it was certainly not a pleasant time!
