It is with very much sadness I have just learned of Enn's unexpected passing last month after a short illness. Although we had never met, we corresponded by email for many years. I have placed this in Lifestyle and Travel as I know how much she enjoyed this forum.
She did a lot of community work in her area helping so many disadvantaged people and she will also be missed by those she has given so much generosity of spirit and care. Her love of animals was never more evident than her care of her beloved German Shepherds with Lucy being her loyal companion for the last few years.
Here is one of her posts from the "Volunteering" thread:
"Until a few months ago, I've volunteered within the community since about age 30.
Lifeline counsellor, then trainer.
Mentor to disadvantaged children in public primary and secondary schools.
Adult literacy tutor.
Emergency relief assessor for community agency.
Dog training instructor.
Support for aboriginal children in disadvantaged families
Mediator (when through Justice Dept, some payment was made.)
Visitor to people in aged care homes who have no family."
She has given so much and will be sadly missed. RIP Enn
