the 'standard of living' in Australia has been based on personal debt for a long long long long long time
at one stage - Oz had close enough to the largest personal debt on the planet
that 'cannot' continue - eventually, the chooks come home

so many in Oz have no mortgage - but, the others - whoosh. Almost everyone pays on plastic and that plastic isn't paid off at the end of the month.
the buck is heading south in comparison to most currencies - and whilst the bonehead brigade have always championed that one by saying ------------- it's great because we get paid more for our IO and coal etc
they overlook a basic - that we don't own those resource generators ---- foreigners do
all one has to do is to look at health, education, housing, welfare over decades - and see that the security and 'standard of living' in Oz is on the slide
hospital waiting times, education choices for ozzies - and home construction - yep, you might get the square metres still - but, it's crap quality - and it's getting worse
have a research into what percentage of Aussie homes have high performance windows in comparison to other developed nations ------------- dismal
have a look at the cladding disaster
have a look at the amount of new apartments with serious building faults -
all downhill
meaning that Ozzies are paying more and more for less and less --------- a small kid could see that - there's only one ending there --------------- 'something's got to give'
