Nobody won and I don't thibk Peter Dutton is saying this , the LNP didn't "sabotage" the referendum, Dutton actually offered a change to the wording that the LNP would support, removing the potential for High Court challenges, interesting that noone seems to mention this issue, several constitutional lawyers/barristers and retired High Court judges have pointed out time and agian that the wording was sloppy and could lead to High Court challenges. Incidentally the 1967 referendum gave the Federal Government the power to make legislation for aborigines removing or going over the states if it wished to. Many people voted NO because they considered another top down institution wasn't going to solve anything. Albenese and Burney need to get out to the settlements with some beauracats in tow and let the people there tell them what they want. All the talking in the world isn't going to solve alcholism and violence on the ground, you can't solve health problems until you clean up diet.
