I agree that there is little chance of an end of Q1 2015 for completion. I did consider the wet season and the Christmas period. December, January and February are the shortest months for the construction industry.
I would expect Brazil would be no different.
Depending on which area in Brazil, there really is no wet season as such and there have been known periods of extended droughts.
The forecast construction time is what comes from AVB. My guess is they are being too optimistic. I would guess a 12 month construction schedule would be a more accurate forecast with some contingency.
My concern is that for a possible start before Christmas, all the deliverables (FML, Finance, Engineering Design and Contracts) have to be achieved without any further delays. The odds are against this happening.
At this point I'm expecting construction proper to begin early next year.
I have copped some flak for going against the "dreamers" but it is good to see you are getting recognition with the high number of thumbs up.
Also good to see another Project Manager adding some reality.
