    Spruiking the aggregate numbers just doesn't do it any more. Create all the jobs you want and boast about xx years of GDP growth without a recession- doesn't mean squat if the lived experience is getting worse. No hiding from that.

    Truth is if you import 200k+ net overseas migration a year, it is very, very dificult to have any kind of recession or lack of jobs growth. Doesn't mean things are getting better for Joe Sixpack however. Look at, say, real disposable income per capita recently- woeful!

    Abbott is on to something pointing the finger at it. I've no doubt he'd squib on it to the business lobby if he ever got back to power, but it is dynamite for causing trouble.

    Meanwhile Mal's wife is heading the (UNELECTED) Greater Sydney Commission ever more cramming them in in perpetuity while the citizens wear the housing, schools, roads, trains etc crush. Good luck with making that politically palateable!
