Most of Europes lithium comes from China right now, China get their lithium from Australia then they refine it and sell it to Europe, Germany's just cutting out the middle man. But if you think its gonna be cheaper for Europe to ship Lithium from hard rock mines in Australia to be refined in Europe, rather than extract it via DLE in there own backyard with a much simpler refining process you have rocks in your head.
