    What downfall?

Isaiah 14:14 seems to me to be directed at those who lead us who then imagine they are more than human, equals of God. This is the psychosis of power and it has been personified as Satin. No fall, just a stage in social evolution. Look how far we have come, even with the problems we have today we have never been more globally integrated and reactive to the needs of others nations when they are in serious trouble.

Genesis 3/5 speaks about the maturation of the human condition to the point that they have eaten from the tree of Good and Evil and thus are now responsible for their actions in doing good or evil.

There is this notion that humans were somehow perfect and then corrupted themselves, Original Sin and so on, death entering the human realm.

Humans in every age died and sinned, but today we have developed systems of morality, law, consequence, social protection, the power of the elite for the most part has been subdued and this did not exist in our past. We have never been higher, further from a fall socially and morally than we are today. Just because people challenge religion is not a sign of falling, it's just an honest questioning that every religion must be exposed to.

Humanity is rising from an animal state to human state and though this is a slow and painful process any just review of history shows how far we have come.
