actually they watched their ships being sunk in their own harbours and did nothing much about it.... even the sinking of the Lucitania off Southern Ireland in 1915 in which 128 Americans were killed did not stir the American public. Not until the Jews used their influence did America really change its tune. There are many puzzling aspects to the British government's toadying up to the Jewish heirarchy for help in persuading the Americans to join in the fray - the biggest one being that both the British and American establishments were fundamentally anti-Jewish! Jewish interests had long owned the Bank of England and they certainly owned the Fed which is probably why those establishments were innately anti-Jewish. Anyway, here we have Britain imploring Jewish (Rothschild's) help to get America into the war (payment for which was the Balfour Declaration among other things). Notice that Britain didn't for instance ask the Catholics for their help (and the Catholics would have well outnumbered Jews by far) so why the Jews? There's only one answer to that and it's because the Jews, as today, had an influence, far disproportionate to their number, in shaping American opinion. They owned the media, they owned the Banks, see where this is going?.... By the way, in about the 1920's/30's the majority of the German media was controlled by Jewish interests. it's all too long to go into here but there's a lot of interesting questions about who really ran both World Wars and who are the main drivers of conflict today.
