It is certainly true that longarms in gunshops are kept in racks secured with steel tethering which can be cut.
Handguns by law are kept in concrete/steel strongrooms with combination locks and CCTV.
It is most unlikely handguns were stolen unless an inside job.
Noteworthy the AFP report in 2017 estimated illegal handgun imports are already upwards of 30,000+ a year with a flourishing black market.
The occasional gun crime incident that does get reported always makes front page news as MSM and the usual hand-wringing snowflakes emerge hysterically crying for the end of all firearms.
