2. A.G. was the captain of the Swans team, in a position of supreme authority
3. such was A.G's authority that the police & ground's staff swiftly followed his directives
4. A.G. was not powerless
5. to the contrary, A.G. exercised his absolute power against a 13yo girl
6. as an ethnic ('wog') who played sport, I was racially vilified many times on the field
7. A.G. would have also been racially name-called many times on the AFL field
8. how many AFL players did A.G. call out on the field and get ejected from the ground? none
9. many people disagree with A.G.s actions that day
10. as for giving children a hiding, sorry Pear, but we will always disagree with you
11. my father never once gave me a hiding
12. my mother used to occasionally hit me with a stick until when was about 11yo, when i grabbed it with my hand when she was striking and threw it out of the door over the fence. that was the end of my mother's sticking
13. since we are adults, we should communicate to our children when we have issues
