I think it may have been HC's Voltaire who suggested watch for a 20/50 cross on monthly for big swings.
With that in mind, here's a monthly chart saying the next crash has started:

Perhaps it can recover and maintain this up trajectory from here (as per ASX chart shared above by $tock1), but USA has had a very good run since GFC until now so the timer must be about done.
