Just on the news front, with the Paris climate change pow wow, I suspsect
gas will be more sought after for fueling projects (even as a stop gap) in the
very near future.
Gas is already expensive in Australia as we export most of it. We have contracted
to Alcoa and I'm aware that LKO was going to enter agreements with simplot for
long term gas supply even though they could not supply it.
Could be some contracts being signed in anticipation of changes as a matter of
urgency. Its not a stretch to anticipate that coal fired power stations could be
converted easily to be gas fired, well its easier than mothballing all the coal fired
ones.
