Promise Tracker: The Abbott Government's 2013 election commitments
The Coalition made a long list of promises in the lead up to the 2013 federal election.
Tony Abbott's most repeated campaign mantra was that a Coalition government would "stop the boats", "scrap the carbon tax", "get the budget back under control" and "build the roads of the 21st century".
Mr Abbott set a high standard when it comes to keeping promises. In 2011 he said: "It is an absolute principle of democracy that governments should not and must not say one thing before an election and do the opposite afterwards."
