Pintohoo , Labor wasn't the sole target but now that you mention it look at the source of most Labor members of parliament ....... the unions . You don't get much more left swinging than that . I've always believed Labor has been held back by these individuals , a veritable vacuum when it comes to intelligible government . Individuals who have risen within the ranks of radical unions such as the AWU , CFMEU , ETU , HSU to name a few who think they actually "deserve " a safe Labor seat whether they have earnt it or not . These are in a lot of cases ex union heavyweights , thugs who have little regard for business and those who run them , even less regard for the law . You can't argue with fact , standover , assault , corruption , dishonesty appear the norm . The balance of Labor appear to be teachers , academics etc who have social ideals that are worthy but not always affordable .
Can understand your dissapointment , unfortunately it comes down to the quality and type of person who seeks higher office .... not always what we would hope for
