I have been pondering on this for some weeks. With half of my super in an industry fund and half in my SMSF I have purchased BBOZ for my SMSF only to find it dropped later in the day! Well it was a short term trade (weeks to months) not a day trade. For what it is worth, as interest rates rise and bond buying by Governments drops off, it seems almost inevitable that the market will at best level out and at worse drop further. Even if it levels out I do not think I will loose too much with BBOZ and if it drops further, selling BBOZ will offset some of the other (paper) losses.

I am in pension phase so preservation of capital is very important but those of us in this phase just need to hold our nerve. It is more difficult for those about to retire with funds on the margin.
