It's a personal choice but if you own your own home you can't get kicked out, you can do as much or a little to the property as you like, you can even rent a room out. It seems like you've copied the info from somewhere in your first post and it's very numbers oriented, not much in the way of personal choice and preferences about where best for you to live? I think you need to figure out what's best for you and forget the finances in the first instance. Maybe rent then see how you go because if you buy you're sort of stuck where you are (sort of, it's pain in the ass to move and very expensive).
