I suspect it is more a case of in a world of near record stock valuations the hunt for value is king. If most stocks are seen at/near peak, it stands to reason, to me at least, that a company with potential value - even with increased risks - would attract attention. Especially when the likes of Bell Potter jump on-board (did they say $2.25 current value?).
I think AMP has a case to make that it is a multi-year investment which can - all things going right - build investor value over time. This is a difficult case to make for a number of other ASX200 stocks. Just my reading of the current action.
