The responses to your thread along with the gloating expressed in other threads over the last couple of days validates your point.While this is a political forum and one would expect some politicizing of the sad event,the behavior of the extremely right contributors here on hc is a disgrace.
These are some of the threads that have been going over these very sad times where the main issue is no longer the suffering of the families but the politics.

With the budget in tatters and the debt/deficit problem starting to look real this sad event has been used by the extreme right here on hc as a smokescreen.
This is not a criticism of Abbott/Bishops handling of the event.After a poor start in chastising Russia and Putin,their actions in this sad situation have been largely good.I am however critical of the contributors on hc who ALWAYS put politics before decency.
I have noticed the other political parties have been very quiet as are the moderates on hc as a sign of respect for the departed.
