IMO Billy went about it in the most open manner putting his plans before the people, but overestimated the ability of the electorate to understand them well enough to see through the massive fear campaign so they decided to stick with the incumbents who offered no changes. The LNP was aided and abetted in this by both Hanson and Palmer who are both fundamentally right wing. Palmer's advertising spending swamped anything anyone else could afford to do. In other words what Labor was proposing was IMO mostly sound policy but unpopular electorally and impossible to sell. In that respect he showed poor political judgement and has immediately resigned as Labor leader. Unfortunately this election is going to result in a lack of any major political parties putting up any big policies in the future because it is now clear that undertaking to really change anything for better or worse will get you pilloried and defeated by the other side. Good luck to Morrison getting through the next three years without changing anything but that's the message the electorate has sent.

I would put my house on Scomo completing two terms . No Abbott no Turnbull there will be peace in the house . Add the fact that labor’s cupboard of talent is absolutely bereft of talent, there’s not a skerrick of charisma in their entire front bench if anything it’s increased once bland boring Bill disappears to the back bench ( we can only hope for their sake that’s were he’s headed )
