Just while I'm on it I've seen a few intellectually challengeds having a go at Menzies whilst deifying Gough.
So there we have Menzies . Australia's longest serving Prime Minister ,barely put a foot out of place , understated ,no risks ,made a cuppla blues sure ,but a constant hand of stability and prosperity . Left office gracefully with no fanfare whilst still on top .What a terrible job he did ,lol
There we have Gough ,ran the economy into the ground ,basically destroyed out bilateral relationships ,complete chaos ,judged by the voters as the worst PM ever and unceremoniously dumped within 3 years .But while he was there threw money he didn't have at any hair brained idea that might make him popular ,mass inflation , rampant unemployment at the end ,not that it took him that long
And we've got people here who are prepared to say that Menzies was hopeless and Gough wonderful.
