Chalmers told Parliament Tuesday night that Australia's Aged Care workforce will receive a 15% pay rise on July 1. This is not truthful and is down right misleading to the fabulous Aged Care Workers.
My wife works in an Aged Care home as a Personal Care Worker, one of the work categories that Albo/Chalmers said would receive a 15% wage rise.
Discussions between management and staff today confirmed that they would NOT be getting the 15% pay rise as they are paid under the HSU award. Their pay rise on July 1 will be 5.2% as per the minimum wage increase designated by Fair Work Australia. Almost all Personal Care Workers in Australia are currently paid under an Award. Albo and Chalmers should know this and if they did then they are deliberately being untruthful and misleading.
So I'm calling Bull Dust on Albo and Chalmers for claiming that the Aged Care workforce will be receiving the 15%. They will not, they will receive 5.2%.
