taughtbuffet, Christians aren't free to do whatever they like, because they are under the law of Christ. But are the Israelites under the schoolmaster, Galatians 3:24,( the law given to Moses) forever? . This is not what Paul suggested

the law GIVEN to Moses,
Christ said "till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass"
so yes, that would count as forever, because I can never see a time when heaven will pass away, can you?
