Not hard for the company to keep shareholders informed, especially in relation to time frames which aren't being met. If you set shareholders' expectations with dates, then don't meet them, I fail to see why it is so hard to say, yep, we were aiming for date / time frame 1 and it is now looking like date / time frame 2 because of reason x.
