I'm right there with you OMS on the value associated with nuclear waste recycling and storage. its an essential service to the world if we get the regulatory mechanisms, technology and engineering right.
imo theres really no need for remote siting of any of these facilities. if they are safe enough in the bush, they're safe enough in the burbs. UK, US and France, Japan and Korea all have their generation plants in industrial sites near enough to urban communities. same applies to storage of waste.
Lucas Hts is not that far from urban Sydney.
