There will never be another coal fired power station built in Australia (caveat: maybe with CCS, if it ever becomes a reality). They are expensive to build, they are expensive to run and they have an in-built time bomb in terms of their carbon emissions. If one gets built here without any form of CCS or some other emissions reduction technology I will eat my hat. Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in the past, like most people here on HC.
