Just as an aside, I don't rely on moving averages but they are a good sign of just where a share price is moving over time. There are dozens of ways of looking at momentum and all are useful.

What I do find though is that when one moving average (or group as per Guppy mma's) is below another longer term ma then reasonably large upward moves do occur. Goes across all stocks I've noticed so an optimist would look at a so called "death cross" as mentioned in these threads as quite a good time to sit back and wait.......................... more than one way of looking at things
