THE NARRATIVE ON GAS AND PEP 11 HAS CHANGED…
One thing that we can take from the PM’s news conference on the Central Coast of NSW is that Albo has gone from the publicly expressed view that he is ‘ ..,dead against PEP 11…’ to gas being vital as a transitional fuel in the move to renewables, especially in the C. Coast/Hunter region.
Since the Federal Government lost its court case to BPH , Albo has been careful to follow the ‘due process’ line for legal/political reasons. DB has said almost nothing publicly and I assume that is because he knows what’s going on and is comfortable with it. Also, I believe he doesn’t want to upset the decision making process and makers.
The most important part of the PM’s news conference , in my opinion, is the glowing endorsement for gas as a transitional fuel, required in the PEP 11 territory . Mentioning this and PEP 11 in the same press conference is ,imo,
the most positive indication we have had since the court case win.
My PEP GUTMETER has moved from 40/60 approval possibility to 70/30. It would be higher, except we need to remember we are dealing with politicians.
