The $855 million sale of takeaway food delivery service Menulog to British rival Just Eat in June was one of the most remarkable deals of last year.
Struck at a price that valued Menulog at an eye-watering multiple of 371 times earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, the deal was variously described as "crazy", "unbelievable" and "shocking". It even made the The Australian Financial Review's 11 biggest moments in tech in 2015.
