PERTH, Australia – Woodside Energy has contracted Shearwater GeoServices to acquire an HD 3D seismic survey over the SNE oil field offshore Senegal.

The program, due to start in June, should lead to improved reservoir definition in support of well positioning and optimization for the Phase 1 development. Offshore Western Australia,

Woodside said the Chevron-operated Wheatstone platform was controlled remotely from Perth for a brief period earlier this year, after being demobilized during the approach of Tropical Cyclone Veronica. Elsewhere in the region, the Greater Enfield development was recently 89% complete. Nine of the 12 development wells have been drilled and completed and the final production risers should be installed this month.

Commissioning is under way of critical equipment on the FPSO Ngujima-Yin, and the vessel will soon sail to Western Australian waters, followed by further commissioning and start-up. Front-end engineering design has started for the offshore Pyxis and Pluto North infill wells, with a final investment decision probable in late 2019.

The Greater Western Flank Phase 3 project entered the concept definition phase in January. The aim is to produce 435 bcf of gas via four subsea wells tied back to existing North West Shelf project infrastructure, with ready for start-up targeted for 2022.

Gas processing agreement negotiations continue for the Browse to North West Shelf project. A geophysical, geotechnical, and environmental survey started along the proposed trunkline route last month. In the Bulgarian sector of the Black Sea, Woodside is participating in the current Khan Kubrat-1 exploration well in block 1-14 Khan Kubrat. 04/18/2019

Chrysaor to buy ConocoPhillips’ entire UK North Sea portfolio
    04/18/2019

LONDON – Chrysaor Holdings Ltd. has struck a deal to acquire ConocoPhillips’ UK North Sea oil and gas business for $2.675 billion.

The assets contain more than 280 MMboe of proved and probable reserves and produced around 72,000 boe/d last year.

They will lift Chrysaor’s pro forma 2018 production to 177,000 boe/d, making it one of the largest offshore oil and gas producers in the UK North Sea.

Pending regulatory approval and satisfaction of other conditions, the transaction should be completed in late 2019. ConocoPhillips will retain its London‐based commercial trading business and its interest in and operatorship of the Teesside oil terminal in northeast England. Chrysaor now expects its 2019 production to exceed 185,000 boe/d, boosted by drilling and development activity across its existing and new fields.

“ConocoPhillips is shifting its focus towards lower cost opportunities elsewhere in the world, particularly in the US. Among such a wider global portfolio, UK fields would have struggled to compete for capital.”

Adamcikova suggested that Chrysaor make further moves in the near future to further boost its mid- to long-term production outlook.
