The government appears to have committed Australia to a almost full scale war footing and there has been no debate and basically (apart from a whimper from the greens) no opposition
The Abbott government have certainly learnt from their bad showing with the budget that you have to do a bit more marketing before you announce a new initiative, so this time we have suicide bombers roaming our streets and all sorts of other horrors which has silenced all debate and opposition ?.
I did think that the threat to blow up the Federal Parliament House was a little over the top because there are a lot of Australians who believe that it would be a benefit to do so, but all plans have some down sides
