Orcoda (ODA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with several parties for its national Smart Pole pilot.

The logistics, resources and healthcare company has announced it will work with Wagners CFT Manufacturing to manufacture the poles going forward.

ODA's Smart Pole tech offers a variety of services, including surveillance, data tracking, wireless charging and even access to payment platforms.

ODA will also work with RC Birili for digital delivery services and Betta Power Services for pole installation and the wider roll-out.

Additionally, the business has signed an agreement with Future Meridian, which will act as a liaison for the federal government, assisting with grants and sales.

Orcoda's Managing Director said the company wants to partner with the federal government to test its technology.

"Our next steps, now we have an expert team together, is to apply for Federal Government grants to support the funding of a pilot program to demonstrate the potential capabilities and benefits of an Orcoda Smart Pole network," Geoff Jamieson said.

"Our Smart Poles Project represents significant opportunities to substantially grow our recurring revenues into the future and our team is excited about benefits that our technology can deliver to transport services and infrastructure both nationally and internationally," he added.

Orcoda (ASX:ODA) sees 90pc growth in customer receipts

  • The transport logistics and services provider allocated almost $1.7 million to staff and admin costs and around $967,000 to product manufacturing and operating costs
  • Despite that, the company had a positive net cashflow position for the third quarter in a row
  • Orcoda operates three divisions including the healthcare, transport and resources divisions
  • Significantly, the healthcare division inked a three-year deal to provide its vehicles and drivers to Transitcare
  • At the end of the period, Orcoda had $2.3 million in cash – a healthy increase from the $708,000 it started with

Orcoda (ODA) has announced a positive net cashflow of $16,000 from operating activities for the third quarter in a row.

Customer receipts increased by a significant 90 per cent from $1.46 million in the December quarter to $2.79 million for the March 2021 quarter. This brings Orcoda's year to date receipts to $5.14 million.

Orcoda says buying Brisbane-based transport company, Betta Group, last year has contributed positively to customer receipts and annual profit.

The transport logistics and services provider allocated almost $1.7 million to staff and admin costs and around $967,000 to product manufacturing and operating costs.

Consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) came to $241,000.

Orcoda operates three divisions which are the healthcare, transport and resources divisions.

While the transport business is recovering from the pandemic, it has experienced a growth in receipts from existing customers.

The healthcare division sells a software-as-a-service platform to not-for-profit transport providers for the aged care and disability communities. In March, the division inked a three-year deal to provide its vehicles and drivers to Transitcare.

The resource division announced a $1.3 million project with a major mining company and is bidding on a number of infrastructure projects. The company believes the addition of Betta has strengthened its ability to bid on large projects.

Pleasingly, all three of Orcoda's divisions, being healthcare, transport and resources, are now profitable and in a solid position for the next quarter.

At the end of March, Orcoda had $2.3 million in cash – a healthy increase from the $708,000 it started the year with.

  • Orcoda's (ODA) subsidiary, Orcoda Healthcare Logistics, has signed a $900,000 contract with TransitCare
  • Under the agreement, Orcoda Healthcare will supply its specialised vehicles and drivers to the organisation for 40 months
  • TransitCare, a Queensland-based not-for-profit, organises and runs transit routes for those who have difficulty getting around Brisbane and other areas
  • Orcoda also has a history of working with TransitCare in the past, first providing them with optimisation software in 2018

Orcoda's (ODA) subsidiary, Orcoda Healthcare Logistics, has signed a $900,000 contract with long-time partner TransitCare.

Under this latest agreement, Orcoda Healthcare has agreed to supply its specialised vehicles and drivers to the organisation over a period of 40 months.

The supplied drivers and vehicles will help supplement the not-for-profit's existing services.

TransitCare essentially organises and runs transit routes for those who have difficulty getting around Brisbane and other areas of Queensland.

The contract will earn Orcoda's subsidiary $900,000 in revenue, though that figure could increase is more vehicles are added to the fleet.

"We are currently bidding on some very large contracts to expand the Transitcare capability throughout Queensland," TransitCare CEO Terry O’Toole said.

Before today's contract was announced, Orcoda had already worked with TransitCare in the past — first providing them with optimisation software in 2018.

"Orcoda’s state of the art transport technology platform "OLMS" has facilitated the ability for Transitcare to grow and Orcoda will play a major role in our ongoing business through their provision of vehicles and drivers to our network and through their ongoing support of OLMS," the CEO explained.

"I look forward to continuing to work with the Orcoda’s innovative team and professional drivers as we win further contracts and grow our service base," Terry said.
