  • TMK Energy (TMK) intersects about 47 metres of gassy coal at its Snow Leopard-03 well within its Gurvantes XXXV Coal Seam Gas (CSG) project in Mongolia
  • The discovery was made in the upper coal seam, from a depth of 190 metres
  • The coal core has been sampled for gas desorption testing, with preliminary results suggesting high gas contents
  • The results have so far been consistent with the first two wells drilled in the Narrin Sukhait area, demonstrating the continuity of the coal formations

  • TMK Energy (TMK) sees further positive results from its Snow Leopard-02 (SL-02) well at the Gurvantes XXXV coal seam gas project in Mongolia’s South Gobi Basin
  • The company says drilling has intersected a further 21 metres of coal in the lower seam from a depth of 457 metres to 478.5m
  • This is in addition to the 70 metres of coal that was intersected in the upper seam at SL-02 and brings the total net coal thickness intersected in the well to 91 metres
  • TMK will now move the rig to Snow Leopard-03 — the third of four planned wells in this exploration drilling program.

  • TMK Energy (TMK) confirms high permeability over the upper coal seam test interval at its Snow Leopard – 02 (SL02) well in Mongolia
  • An analysis of drill stem test (DST) and injectivity fall-off test (IFOT) data from the well reveals a flow capacity of 1090 millidarcy metres (mD.m) over the test interval
  • TMK says this shows the permeability of the 70 metres of coal intersected in the upper seam is well within the range required to be able to produce gas from the coals at the location
  • CEO Brendan Stats says based on the current results, the company will commence the process of fast-tracking planning for a pilot production well program later in 2022

  • Preliminary results from gas desorption testing of coal core samples indicate high gas contents and further analysis is underway
  • Meanwhile, SL-02 is drilling ahead, with a current depth of 378 metres with the aim of intersecting a deeper coal seam

  • TMK Energy (TMK) strikes 70 metres of gassy coal from the latest bout of drilling at its Gurvantes XXXV coal seam gas project in Mongolia
  • Drilling at the Snow Leopard-2 (SL-02) well in the South Gobi Basin region intersected the coal from 167 metres deep
  • CEO Brendan Stats says the results from SL-02 so far are “exceptional” considering the relatively shallow depth of the upper coal seam
  • TMK plans to drill SL-02 to 600 metres to target a deeper coal seam in the area and is currently at 360 metres deep
