    I find it interesting that the WA farmers were behind the big push for de-regulation of the grain market - are the ones now in the most financial difficulty.

    Wasn't it supposed to bring higher prices?? now all the profit goes to big off shore markets that have no interest in improving varieties or putting money back into projects to aid farmers.

    that might rile a few, but that's my opinion

    like when the listed SACBH/Ausbulk the company was 'always going to be owned by growers' that was the line I was paid to say. The big boys wanted to cash in their shares so it would be only a 'benifit' to to growers to deregulate the UGH shares.

    Then the Viterra TO, has led to cost cutting and poor maintenance of facilities. Now Viterra to sell out the Glencore.....

    of what benifit to growers now? Time will tell
