Gillard promised Oakeshott and Windsor the Sun, Moon and Stars at the time she was battling to hang on, to get their vote so she could gain power. So this obvious pork barrelling (and others she's done for Windsor, is necessary as her pay-off side of the bargaining for their vote. This is just the pay-dirt to keep Oakeshott placated, and make him look good in his own mind.
Thankfully, Oakeshott did NOT get the Speakership which we flounced around at the time thinking he'd have in the bag! One alleged idiot in that chair is enough!
As for Windsor, my opinion of him and his standards of ethics/morals are absolutely unprintable. But a lot of anyone's character is always there to read in their face, AND body language. I read sneering and loathing in their two faces - for a National Party which for reasons unexplained fully, fell out with these two.
Just HOW stupid do these two think we are - are the actually so self-deluded and arrogant and self-serving that they each actually think they STILL have us all fooled? That any majority would still vote for them?
I repeat, these two will go down in Australian political history, IMO, as two of the most infamous politicians ever. And that's saying something!
For them to strut, preen and procrastinate, in 2010, and PRETEND for weeks they were "deciding", (all showbiz) and then to have the gall, even now, to tell us they know better than all of us, that they chose "the best Party to offer Australians "stable" government", is just so much hot air and hooey.
I predict each of them will stand for Labor at any future Federal election! No other alternative. At least it'll be more honest than their deceitful, giving us "the bird" behaviour up until now.
Whatever they do, each of them is G O R N!! And what a happy day that is to look forward to.
