Sharedawealth, Can you clarify what constitutes "ownership class"? Is it someone like myself who started working at age 15 and bought my first run down house on the outskirts of Sydney at 17 , had a trade by 19 and and then built up a portfolio of property over the next 15 years and now at the age of 55 living very comfortably on the income I derive from rent and other investments? I pay a significant amount of land tax and payg tax. Oh and by the way as a self funded retiree when I finally enter a nursing home I will be paying an Income Tested Fee (Tax) currently $66.40 per day to the govt on top of all the nursing home fees,charges and income tax simply because I chose to invest wisely and take some risks.
