If one of the goals of the Bearish rally was to reduce public approval of the ruling government, all the tear gas and heavy handed actions of the police probably accomplished that goal for the Bearish.
Now there is talk of postponing national elections to give the present government more time to regain public approval.
The events of the day were not a good example of Malaysian democracy.
Fortunately for Lynas, they were a very minor part of the day's protests.
