I'd suggest that the complete lack of any guidelines or rules will be what will save Thomson. If there aren’t any rules.. then he hasn’t broken any. Any ATO investigations will take decades to complete.
Unfortunately for Gillard the public just won't swallow the fact that you need 'guidlines' to restrain you from spending union members fees like it was a bodily function.
The correlation between the former President of the ALP's spending patterns and those of this government is all too easy to compare.
Will any of the members ever see a cent of the ill-gotten gains repaid....? no chance... it's all gone on lavish lunches, business class flights, prostitutes, nepatism and home extensions.
The honest and hard worker members of the union movement must be apoplectic with despair. The movement may never recover.
No wonder Shorten is in full damage control and trying to shut it all down.
