The Chinese got into Moly purely for the resource. They don't care about MOL making money or shareholder value. You only need to look at a longterm price chart to see that.
For the same reason they want SDL, they want the massive reserves of Iron Ore so they don't have to buy from BHP/RIO/VALE/FMG etc.
They will develope the mine then sell the I/O back home cheaply.
Once they own a company they can do what they want with the resource..... China wants profit to be made in China.
