A few years ago, the 'in crowd', in a petulant fit, gathered up their skirts and swished out of the bar.

Our star performer Rodd, left, a disagreement with the mods over something. I don't know enough to comment, but henceforth there was bitching and whining about the mods and righteous indignation from his supporters.

Hence my skirt comment - like bridesmaids preparing for a wedding - it seemed petty. There was definitely an 'in crowd' then...or it would appear that way from someone who was a new contributor.

The old dames - that left in a fit of hissiness would pop back in from time to time, chuck in a sarcastic comment or two and then mince out again.

The XJO thread was petering away to nothing....down the gurgler. I was a newbie here and couldn't contribute much. The only thing I could, was a few funny stories, usually at myself so as not to offend anyone.

We had 'Feel the love Friday' the day after and that dispelled the angst and we got on with business again.

Robb, put in a lot of time on analysis and charts then, as do members now - Redbacka, Funky, Voltaire, Mowibble, Mitta, Pauley, Woohoo, Acouch, Maxi & others.

But to keep those guys in reader fodder, the thread has to have some balance. The comedians who start the thread and give it cohesion and so allowing the smart guys a thread with someone reading it... Zia, Pauley, Disco and moi, fill that roll.

Others comment on sentiment and political (not me). Paddington Bear, Penny, Pisces, Stocky, Jgunter, Sck and so on.

Also, there are quiet times of the week when a joke or two is apt, just to keep things moving. A song or joke in the early hours won't clog up the thread and most of the posters that chuck in some frivolity, earn it by posting some more serious stuff too.

Friday night Zoomba is a baslket case as far as analysis goes.

Sometime it's out of wack and then you can rely on someone to pull the balance back again.

Most of us are too old to be into any kind of so called 'in crowd', but anyone who contributes more than once or twice is sure to start getting more response, which you have.
